Aarakshit Rozgar, Mahilaon Ko Adhikar

Under this Nishchay, 35% horizontal reservation has been given to women in recruitments across all cadres and services of the State. The notification to this regard has been issued in February, 2016 and thus this was the first resolve to be fulfilled by the State Government. Till date, 2,693 women have been appointed under the provision of horizontal reservation.

Women Empowerment

  • The approval for 35% horizontal reservation for women in direct recruitment across all cadres and services of the State has been given.
  • Women Empowerment Policy, 2015 has been enforced in the State. Initially, with the provision of 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions, Municipal bodies and in appointment of teachers in primary schools, the State Government laid foundation of the women empowerment initiative. The establishment of Mahila Police Battalion, 35% reservation of women in the appointment of Police Sub Inspectors and constables and formation of “self help groups” under Jeevika, self confidence and self reliance has increased among women. It has become a silent revolution which is transforming the social scenario of the State, specially the rural areas.
  • The implementation of nishchay “Aarakshit Rozgar Mahilaon Ka Adhikar” has been one of the major steps forward in the direction of consolidation of women empowerment in the State.
