Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal

This resolution aims at providing piped quality drinking water to every single household of rural and urban areas of the State. This is being implemented by Panchayati Raj and Public Health Engineering Departments in rural areas and by Urban Development and Housing Department in urban areas. Under this, schemes have been formulated to provide piped water supply to every household with a view to end their dependence on Hand-pumps (chapakal) and other sources of drinking water.

Four schemes launched by the State Government for achieving this resolution :

  1. Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nischay Yojana.
  2. Mukhyamantri Gramin  Peyjal Nischay Yojana (Quality affected areas).
  3. Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nischay yojana( Non quality affected areas).
  4. Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Nischay Yojana.

Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nishchay Yojana

  • Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nishchay Yojana was launched on 27th September, 2016.
  • All households in 4291  Gram Panchayats that do not have access to good quality drinking water shall be provided clean drinking water through piped water supply under Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nishchay Yojana. The scheme is being implemented by the Panchayati Raj Department.
  • It aims to provide clean drinking water through piped supply to every household in rural area through community participation by 2019-2020.
  • Phase-wise implementation of the scheme will be done by taking up small and micro water supply schemes. The requirement of water will be fulfilled through boring, submersible pumps and distribution pipelines. The cost of water supply works will be met by convergence of funds available on the recommendation of the 14th Finance Commission and 5th state finance commission and the state plan fund. An estimated expense of Rs.8373.54 crores is likely to be incurred for completion of the schemes in the financial year 2016-17 and three next years.
  • In the Finacial year 2018-2019, Against a cumulative target to provide potable (safe drinking) water facilities to 71.16 lakh households spread over 46,847 rural wards, work is under progress in 42,424 rural wards and has been completed in 19,166 rural wards while 26.39 lakh households have been provided with potable (safe & drinking) water facilities, as of now.

Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyajal (Quality affected areas) Nishchay Yojana

  • Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (quality affected areas) Nishchay Yojana was launched on 27th September, 2016.
  • The scheme is being implemented in Gram Panchayats, where water is totally affected with iron, fluoride and arsenic. Under this scheme 3,079 Flouride affected rural wards, 2,556 Arsenic affected rural wards, 20,637 Iron affected rural wards will be provided clean drinking water through piped water supply.
  • This scheme is being implemented by Public Health Engineering department.
  • In the financial year 2018-2019, against a cumulative target to provide potable (safe drinking) water facilities to 21,858 wards and 36.33 lakh quality affected households, work is under progress in 5506 quality affected rural wards and has been completed in 929 rural wards, while 1.56 lakh households have been provided with potable (safe drinking) water facilities, as of now.

Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (Non quality affected areas) Nishchay Yojana

  • Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (non quality affected areas) Nishchay Yojana was launched on September 27, 2016.
  • Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (non quality affected areas) Nishchay Yojana is being implemented in such wards of Gram Panchayats where the quality of water is not affected or where the Public Health Engineering Department is already implementing schemes  for supply of drinking water.
  • Under this scheme,  20,637 wards of rural area. where water is totally or partially not of good quality shall be eligible households under this scheme. All households of these Gram Panchayats will evenly get the benefits of this scheme without any discrimination.
  • In the Financial year  2018-2019, against a cumulative target to provide potable (safe drinking) water facilities to 22.49 lakh non-quality affected households spread over 15,349 rural wards, work is under progress in 6952 rural wards and has been completed in 1806 rural wards, while 3.82 lakh households have been provided with potable (safe drinking) water facilities, as of now.

Mukhyamantri Shahri PeyjaI Nishchay Yojana

  • Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Nishchay yojana was launched on 27th Sept, 2016.
  • Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Nishchay yojana is being implemented by Urban Development & Housing Department. Under this scheme all 15,71, 643 households in 3,381 urban wards of 143 Urban Local Bodies who have not yet got piped drinking water will be covered and will be supplied piped clean drinking water.
  • It aims to ensure supply of pure tap water to each family living in urban areas in the next five years.
  • In the financial year 2018-2019, Against a cumulative target to provide potable (safe drinking) water facilities to 8.42 lakh households spread over 3337 urban wards, work is under progress in 2398 urban wards and has been completed in 354 wards, while 3.03 lakh households have been provided with potable (safe drinking) water facilities, as of now.
